SOLD This 36 year old,
six page letter dated April 7, 1980 was hand written by Prince
Charles to friends on official Buckingham Palace stationary from
the Bahamas. $10,500.00
Dear _________
Just a note from the sun-swept Bahamas to let you know that I
have started doing my
runs along the seashore in preparation for my return to the racecourse
and all that is
happening is that my feet are being worn down to nothing by the
unaccustomed sand.
Talking of racecourses - I am totally confused as to which course
we are going to! is it
in Wales or in Cheshire? I also wondered whether I could bring
a young lady to watch the
riding on Tuesday morning who would then want to come and watch
the race on
Saturday? Perhaps I could give Jon a ring about all this when
I get back next Monday?
I spent last weekend attempting to play polo in Palm Beach. Weather
ugly, the whole
thing was an unmitigated disaster because I ended up in hospital
suffering from heat
exhaustion & total dehydration after spending the morning
playing (can't read) & then
playing 6 (can't read) of fairly (can't read) pool polo, at 3:00
pm, -91 degrees and 100%
humidity! I have never known such heat and have never been so
exhausted. In fact I
thought I was dying when I got back to my room & then ended
up in hospital they had me
on drip all night! What I really needed of course were some of
Mrs. _____ (can't read)
pills! All I can say is thank God one doesn't have to ride round
Sanbourn in 90o heat after
coming from a steady 40 or 50!
I hope all is well in the stable & that you received a photo
for Byron. Much looking
forward to seeing you next week.
Yours affectionately and exhaustedly
Charles
Dated
June 20, 1008 It reads:
Dear _____
Thank you for your letter. I am so sorry to hear that you have
mislaid the letters you had previously received from my office.
I do hope that your health improves and that you enjoy a wonderful
summer.
This comes with all my warmest good wishes,
Yours sincerely, Camilla

After Charles's and Diana's 1981 wedding, they received an invitation
from an unknown lady who wished to host a ride for them.
Can you imagine the amount of gifts from people for their wedding.
It was in the high thousands. I can't imagine the number of invitations
they received.
