It was her grandmother and the Queen Mother who orchestrated the romance between Charles and Diana. This card was purchased directly by Alicia Carroll-Everything Royal from one of Diana's close relatives, her cousin Peter Tuffnell when he visited Los Angeles in 1998. Diana writes on the card,
Darling Grannie,
Season's Greetings (printed)
with much
love from
Diana

Dearest __________
It was so kind and thoughtful of you to realize that Wednesday
would have been
difficult for me.
Believe it or not, I very much wanted to come but could not make
up my mind to which
was most important.
Now that Charles has decided, I hopefully won't be in too much
chaos, save chance!!
I just wanted to say Judy, how enormously touched we were by your
concern & please
forgive us for not coming-
With fondest love, Diana
