AMAZING CARD FROM PRINCE
& PRINCESS MICHAEL OF KENT TO WALLIS SIMPSON (DUCHESS OF WINDSOR)
Item 2031 - This
is one of the rarest cards in my collection. I have never seen
a card from any member of the royal family to the Duke or Duchess
of Windsor. This card addressed to "Aunt Wallis" was
sent in 1978 by Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. It is signed
"Michael" and Marie-Christine". Princess Michael
of Kent is still one of the most beautiful members of the royal
family. Too bad Princess Anne doesn't have a make- over and join
the new millennium with new clothes and definitely a new hairdo.
She has such a pretty face which is hidden with that silly mass
of hair. I wonder if the Queen Mum knew cards were being sent
to the Duchess of Windsor. She blamed her for the early death
of her husband, King George VI. It was King George's brother King
Edward VIII who gave up his throne to marry the twice divorced
Wallis Simpson making his very shy brother the future King George
VI. There was much hatred between the royal family and Wallis.

GREAT CHRISTMAS CARD WITH
PHOTO OF THE QUEEN, QUEEN MOTHER AND PRINCESS MARGARET
Item 2039 -
This framed Christmas card from 1980 is signed by the Queen Mother.
It is signed, "from Elizabeth R." The sepia tone type
photo of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Princess Margaret is wonderful. It
is sad to think the Queen Mum and Margaret are no longer with
us. They belonged to an era of class and elegance and one I'm
afraid we shall never see again. The picture is titled, At Buckingham
Palace following the Thanksgiving Service in St. Paul's Cathedral.
This card is nicely framed. This may well be the last Christmas
card issued showing the Queen Mother with her two oh-so royal
daughters.
